Is there a connection between pizza and potholes? 🦺
Well, I think we can all agree that a connection between those two sounds odd. You might even ask, "Are you crazy?" What connection do you see?”
Let me tell you a little bit about the Domino’s Pizza “Paving for Pizza” campaign, Which is really out-of-the-(pizza)-box and one of the many reasons why I love creative solutions.
🍕Domino's pizza spoke with their customers to get some insight into their experiences. A result of those discussions was the issue of getting a 'damaged' pizza due to bouncing over potholes causing the pizza to stick to the upper-inner side of the pizza box.
🚧This became the basis of the Paving for Pizza initiative - Domino's created a site that allowed customers to nominate a road and choose its condition (mild, moderate, critical, or catastrophic). Domino's counts the nominations based on the zip code, and the roads with the most nominations become eligible for a grant.
Jenny Fouracre, director of public relations for Domino’s: “For us, it’s being part of their community. People really love that we’re out there doing something for their neighborhood and our stores really like it – after all, it’s their neighborhood, too, and they’re getting some recognition for it.”… “The concept is we care about our customers and their experience and we want to make the carryout pizza experience the best it can be”.
