Although the episode discusses Performance pre-mature optimization, this also applies to other kinds of premature optimization such as process optimization, tool optimization and so on - sometimes, to make sure we are investing our time in the right place, on the right challenge, and don't waste resources, we need to first identify the issue, define it, and then plan how to resolve it.
